Welcome to Middle School

Welcome to the St. Anastasia 2018-2019 school year!

Hello! My name is Sharon Van Dyke and I am excited to return to St. Anastasia this school year. I am thrilled to be teaching 5th & 6th grade ELA (English Language Arts) and 5th grade Religion. I love learning and I'm passionate about teaching children.

Just a bit about me…….I grew up in Glenview, spent time living and traveling overseas in Asia and Latin America, and now call Northbrook home. I love to travel (especially internationally), listen to music, as well as read. And I love watching the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs too!

I am very excited to be working with your child this upcoming school year! Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or comments.

We are going to have a great year!

5th Grade Secret Santa!

The 5th graders have voted to have secret santas this year.

They have each pulled the name of another student. On Friday December 21st,  they should bring a wrapped present of no more than $10 to school.

The tag should have the name of the student receiving the gift (but not the gift giver) because we will guess the secret santas!

PERMISSION FORM 5th Grade FMSC.docx

Attached is the field trip permission slip for the upcoming trip to Feed My Starving Children and Culver's.

Parent volunteers do not need to pay the transportation cost. If parent volunteers would like to join us for lunch at Culver's you may purchase your lunch at the restaurant.

To save room on the bus, it would help if some of the parent volunteers could drive separately to FMSC.

Thanks!

FYI  Parent. The attached file is the 5th and 6th grade reading log for the year. Reading logs are provided to students each Monday to be turned in the following Monday. If your child loses his/her reading log, you may print the attached file.

Thanks!

Parents, please use PowerSchool to confirm that your son/daughter is turning in all of his/her homework or class assignments. If there is a "0" in the assignment in PowerSchool, it means I have not received it.

We are working on developing responsibility and good habits this year in school. Your support is greatly appreciated!
